The Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed about 1.5 km (0.9 mi) from the runway, into the premises of B. J. Medical College in Ahmedabad. The aircraft's fuselage was completely destroyed and several buildings in the hostel block of the college were substantially damaged by impact and subsequent fire.
